The three terms, side by side
FOB (Free On Board) puts your goods on the carrier at the origin port. CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) adds freight and insurance to the destination port. DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) lands the goods at your door with duties settled.

Why the choice matters more for metal
Titanium is light for its strength, but it is still metal: weight drives freight cost, and duty depends on classification in your destination country. A DDP price hides both inside one number; an FOB price keeps them visible and lets your broker optimise them.

Air or sea
Air freight moves fast and is priced by chargeable weight — sensible for a first order, a sample run, or a restock of a fast-selling SKU. Sea freight is slower and cheaper per unit once volume justifies a pallet or container.
