A cup is easy to specify: capacity, weight, finish. Then it has to go into a bag. The feature that decides whether it does is the handle - and across the range the folding handle turns up in one line far more than anywhere else.
Eighteen pieces fold, sixteen in one line
Across the 360 SKUs, 18 mention a folding, foldable, foldaway or swing-out handle - and 16 of them sit in cups and mugs. Pots and pans contributes one, a 2.5 L soup pot set with folding handles, and tablewares contributes one, a 300 ml Sierra cup with a foldable handle. If you need a handle that lies flat, that is where to look first, because the rest of the range carries fixed handles or none at all.
What the folding pieces actually are
The 450 ml single-wall cup is the lightest of them at 58 g, with a folding D-handle. The 600 ml mug is 147 g and folds too. The three-piece nesting set at 450, 260 and 120 ml is the one to look at when the requirement is packing rather than drinking: three vessels that stack, with the handle folding out of the way so they can. Outside drinkware, the 2.5 L soup pot set carries folding handles so the pot drops into a pack instead of standing on a shelf.
Why the split is so lopsided
A folding handle solves a problem that only exists on wide, shallow vessels. A tall narrow mug can be gripped anywhere. A 450 ml cup, or a 300 ml Sierra cup at 126 mm across the rim, needs a handle to be lifted and then needs that handle out of the way once the piece is packed away. Cookware answers the same problem differently - by nesting - which is why the pans keep fixed handles instead.
Writing it into an order
Folding handles are a variant rather than a default: the same capacities also appear with fixed handles, so the handle has to be stated in the request instead of assumed from the capacity. For backpacking, bike packing or vehicle camping markets, spec the folding version explicitly and ask for packed dimensions rather than working dimensions.
