Why titanium instead of plastic or stainless steel
Titanium is inert. There is no plastic liner to leach into the water, no epoxy coating to flake off and no nickel to react with acidic drinks, so water tastes like water even after the bottle has sat in a hot car.
This range uses grade 1 titanium (TA1), the unalloyed and most corrosion-resistant grade. It does not rust or pit in salt water, and because the body is one solid metal wall it can go into a metal recycling stream rather than being separated into layers.
What 84 g and 14 oz mean in practice
A 14 oz (about 414 ml) titanium bottle weighs 84 g. A comparable double-wall stainless bottle is several times heavier, which is the whole argument for titanium on a bike, in a running vest or in a pack.
It is single-wall, so hot drinks cool faster and the outside can get warm on a long ride. Titanium conducts heat far more slowly than aluminium, so the wall does not burn your hand the way a bare aluminium bottle does.
Finishes: natural versus anodized
Natural titanium is the raw finish - matte, fingerprint-resistant, with no colour added at all. Anodized versions add colour by electrical oxidation rather than pigment or paint, so the finish cannot chip off the way a coated bottle does.
The range covers Dark Night Gold, Ice-flower sky blue, Ice-flower gold, Ice-flower rose and Ice-flower peacock blue, among others. Colour is a retail decision: natural for outdoor specialists, colour for gifting, cycling clubs and studio programmes.
