Titanium Will Not Work on an Induction Hob. Here Is What It Works On.

Anodized titanium 4.5 litre outdoor stock pot, built for gas and open fire rather than induction

Short answer: no. An induction hob only heats a ferromagnetic base, and titanium is not magnetic. That is why none of the 503 SKUs in this range carries an induction claim, while eleven state in the highlight block that they work on any camp stove or fire.

Why does an induction hob refuse titanium?

An induction coil does not heat the pot directly. It drives eddy currents into a magnetically permeable base, and the base heats itself. Titanium is paramagnetic, so there is no coupling: the hob senses nothing and usually shuts off.

The catalogue contains its own evidence. Three EDC tweezers SKUs sell non-magnetic as a feature, because the property that makes titanium useless on induction is the same one that keeps a tweezer from grabbing steel swarf.

This is not a wall-thickness or finish question. No anodizing, polishing or Grade 1 versus Grade 5 choice changes it.

What do the spec sheets actually claim?

Zero of 503 SKUs mention induction. Eleven mention a stove, and all eleven are the 450 ml lidded camping cup at 72.2 g, worded identically: boil water or brew tea on any camp stove or fire.

The larger vessels are described the way they are used. The 4.5 litre stock pots and the 2.5 litre soup pots are campfire and steamer formats, and the 2 litre micro pressure pot is rated for outdoor batch cooking at 624 g.

Worth knowing for your own copy: the range uses no gas stove, electric stove, ceramic hob or cooktop wording at all. Heat guidance here is written around fire and camp stoves.

Which heat sources do work?

Gas, open fire and coals, alcohol and multi-fuel camp stoves, and radiant electric or ceramic hobs. A radiant ring heats by contact, so the base temperature rises regardless of what the metal is made of.

One handling note: titanium conducts heat roughly a tenth as well as aluminium, so a thin wall concentrates heat where the flame lands rather than spreading it. Keep the flame under the base and the pot will not scorch at the rim.

Avoid induction entirely, and keep metal out of the microwave.

What should a buyer do if their market cooks on induction?

Raise it at RFQ before the sample stage. An induction-ready piece needs a ferromagnetic base bonded into the construction, which is a build change and not a finish option - we will tell you per SKU whether it is feasible rather than assume it.

Second, put a heat-source line in the retail listing. Buyers who discover the limitation at home return the pot, and a return costs more than the line of copy.

MOQ is 5 pieces per SKU, samples ship in 5-10 days, and stock orders leave Baoji within 72 hours. Send us the SKU you are planning and we will confirm its heat sources in writing.
