A titanium spec sheet lists a finish and expects you to know what it means. Across the range ten names appear, and they group into three families - anodized, bare, and a small handful of special treatments. Here is what each one is, and where you will actually find it.
Two large families and a small third
Of 360 SKUs, 226 are anodized: 189 listed as anodized and 37 as anodized crystal, where the colour layer is grown from the metal itself rather than applied over it. Another 130 are bare - sandblasted (49), sandblasted matte (39), raw or natural (15), natural (14), natural crystalline (12) and natural titanium (1). The remaining four are one-offs: two stonewashed pieces, one polished and one satin brushed.
Reading the bare names
Bare titanium is not one look. Sandblasted is the workhorse: a uniformly matte surface that blurs handling marks and fingerprints, which is why it sits on high-touch pieces like long-handle spoons and forks. Sandblasted matte is the flatter end of the same treatment. Natural is close to the mill finish - brighter, and the version that shows marks most readily. Natural crystalline describes a crystalline pattern worked into the surface rather than added on top. Raw or natural is the least processed of the group.
The four special pieces read the same way: stonewashed is tumbled to soften edges and dull the shine, satin brushed runs a directional grain across the metal, and polished brings the surface to a mirror.
The names do not spread evenly
Tablewares carries the widest menu in the catalogue with seven finish names across 102 SKUs. Kettles is the narrowest with two - 18 sandblasted matte and 12 anodized - and no plain natural kettle exists in the range at all. Cups and mugs is the most anodized line, 80 of its 92 SKUs. Camp accessories holds all 15 raw or natural pieces. Keychains runs 20 of 22 SKUs bare and holds the only polished piece, while E.D.C keeps the only stonewashed and satin brushed ones.
Choosing a finish
Start from contact. A spoon or fork that meets a pot rim, a tray or a sink every day is better in bare sandblasted, because there is no colour layer to lose and a matte surface absorbs the evidence. Colour belongs where the piece is looked at rather than worked - retail shelves, gift sets, front-of-house service. Polished and satin brushed are accent finishes: expensive to spread across a line, effective on a small premium piece.
